Burgenstock lies above the Lake Lucerne, it is a very famous viewpoint in Switzerland, because the mountain Burgenstock is completely surrounded by the Lake Lucerne and the summit is accessible by the Hammetschwand Elevator. Burgenstock is a luxury business resort. The Bürgenstock funicular railway  was opened in 1888 and completely overhauled in 2002,it  is the oldest electric funicular railway in Switzerland. Hammetschwand lift is 152 meters high,  is the highest outdoor lift in Europe. The Bürgenstock offers a great many hiking options. Pilatus which is the world’s steepest rack railway, provides transport up to the 2129 meters above sea level. Rigi is the oldest rack railway.
