Chur is the capital of the canton of Graubunden in Switzerland, it is lies in the northern of Graubunden. Chur is terminal of important train lines from Germany, France and Benelux, and Chur is the only city in Switzerland with its own winter and summer sports region. Chur has 5000 years history, is the oldest town in Switzerland. Chur is an ideal starting point to many world famous resorts, such as Arosa, Davos and Flims.

Graubunden Museum of Fine Arts: collection of Graubunden arts.
Rhaetian Museum: historical collection relating to the history and the culture of Graubunden, dating from prehistoric times to the present day.
Chur Theatre: From October to May, Chur Theatre aims to create an experimental field for contemplation on the performing arts in the Alpine region, comprising theatre, dance and music.
The Rhaetian Railway: has been certified as an UNESCO world heritage site.
Activities
Hiking: Chur is an ideal starting point for round hikes, because Chur is located between the Montalin/Hochwang, Churer Joch, Dreibündenstein, Stätzerhorn and Calanda mountains.
Cycling and Mountain biking: Chur is the ideal starting point for bike adventures in Graubünden. Several routes lead directly from the Alpine City to breathtaking single trails or easy and broad family trails along the river Rhine.
Mountain magic at Brambruasch: Brambruasch which is Churs home mountain ,lies 1000 meters above Chur. Tourists can easily reach the hiking and skiing area by cable car from Churs town centre. After a few minutes , the cable car take tourists to an altitude of 1600m which is ideal for hiking or walking. In winter skilifts and chair lifts lead all the way up the the summit Dreibündenstein (2176 meters above sea level). The skiing area of Brambrüesch is particularily suitable for families and guests who like to sit back and enjoy the relaxed atmospere.
Shopping
Chur is the largest shopping center between Zurich and Milan, there are more than 500 shops, Virtually all the major department stores and fashion houses are represented in Chur, in a small area there is enormous variety from small traditional shops in the old town to large shopping centres. The old town is ideal for enjoying a leisurely shopping spree. Shopping centres located on the outskirts of the city round off the facilities on offer.
Transportation
Chur is at the end of the line of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and provides excellent connections from/ to Zurich/ Zurich-Kloten Airport, as well as the neighbouring countries to the north. Chur is the meeting-point of the routes from Italy over many alpine passes (Lukmanier Pass, Splugen Pass, and San Bernardino Pass). The bus station is on top of the railway station.
