Engelberg is in the canton of Obwalden, Switzerland. It is the leading mountain resort in central Switzerland. Engelberg is surrounded by the Alps, The highest point in the borders of the town is Mt. Titlis which is 3,239 meters the Titlis, Engelberg's 'home mountain', and its glacier park are accessible by revolving rotair cableway.

Benedictine Monastery was built in 1120. It has made an important contribution to the development of Engelberg.
Monastery church is at present undergoing large-scale renovation work, it will be completed the next 10 years.
Monastery organ is the biggest church organ in Switzerland. With 137 stops, it is even one of the largest world-wide.
Monastery library has large stocks of old books, and collection of historical volumes.
Titlis and Rotair cableway is the highest glacier excursion destination and biggest ski and snowboard paradise in Central Switzerland.
Cheese factory: the spicy cheese of Engelberg is very famous in the world, travelers can watch cheese being made, and purchase the excellent dairy products.
Activities
Engelberg is an ideal resort for skiing, largely for advanced skiers, and although there are some easy places to ski, beginners should be wary of some challenging pistes. The 12-kilometre-long descent from the Titlis to Engelberg is the longest and overcomes a difference in altitude of 2000 metres. Engelberg is also a major summer resort, many activities available both at village level and on the mountain. Several theme trails (mountain flower trail, Brunei trail, tickle trail, Knapp trail) provide the perfect opportunity to explore the countryside on foot.
Mountain bike: there is something for everyone, whether easy mountain bike tour, medium or difficult experience. Through wood and valley, with numerous restaurants and mountain huts on the way to still a lion hunger.
Hiking: travelers can enjoy a wonderful walking experience for four-lakes hike, through the wildlife of the mountain, view the panoramic scenery.
Kids special: Engelberg offer a special programme for children an young people fromm 5 to 15b years, such as kids playground, child care, etc.
Skiing: ski between 1000 and 3000 meters above sea level, fantastic ski region with lots of varied runs of every level of skiers, ideal for beginners, families and groups.
Snowboarding: burnni is ideal for leisure, as well as for hard style boarders. Free riding bangers offer areas outside the marked and prepared runs are known as free snow sport terrain.
Cross country skiing: enjoy cross-country ski runs of totally 41 kilometers length.
Events
Weltcup Skispringen: the world’s best ski jumpers will compete on December.
Folk music festival: it held on four Sundays in August, talents and stars from Switzerland, Austria and Germany takes place in Engelberg.
Fairy tale days: this is the title for the tale event that will be held in October.
Transportations
Engelberg is very easily accessible, right in the middle of Switzerland. Only 20 kilometers from the motorway by car, or a comfortable ride from Lucerne by train on the Zentralbahn line, direct to the monastery village of Engelberg.
