Murren is a traditional Walser mountain village in Switzerland, Murren lies at the foot of the Schilthorn, it features a view of the three towering mountains---Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau. Impressive views of the opposing mountain summits can also be enjoyed from Mürren. The holiday resort is the starting point for walks (200 km of walking trails), excursions and experiences.
Four cable cars provide transportation from Murren downhill to Gimmelwald and Stechelberg. At the end of the 1960s, the makers of the Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” were immediately taken by the futuristic revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn, Murren also offer transportation uphill to the Schithorn and the revolving restaurant Piz Gloria.
The winter sports region of Mürren-Schilthorn has 53 km of prepared ski and snowboard pistes, with 14 ski lifts( 4 cable cars, 6 chair lifts, 2 railway, 2 drag lifts ).
Candlelit hotel in the rear Lauterbrunnen valley is illuminated by candlelight, all cooking is done on a wood stove. Mules haul provisions up to an altitude of 1800 metres, and the Alpine cheese dairy provides specialties that might well have been known 200 years ago.
At the end of the alpine farm season, Cheese festival was held in Murren. Tourists can taste different foods and drinks, and also buy fresh alp cheese.
