General information
Pontresina is in the canton of Graubunden in Switzerland, is located in the highest-altitude valley that branches off from the Upper Engsdine, it is just 7 kilometers from St.Moritz. Pontresina is a traditional Engadine village, divided into four distinct residential areas - Laret, San Spiert, Giarsun and Carlihof. It is a famous hiking and climbing center, and also a relax holiday resort.

Transportation
Pontresina is located in the Upper Engadine, right in the centre of a triangle between Zurich, Milan and Munich. Pontresina can be easily reached by Rhaetian railway, or by air, by car. There are excellent roads lead travelers to Pontresina safely and comfortably from all places in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria. Pontresina has a fair sized railway station positioned to the west of the town which serves a wide area and a youth hostel. In summer, 580 kilometers of well-kept hiking trails afford unlimited opportunities for mountain walks. The Diavolezza and Lagalb transport systems are very close to Pontresina. From Pontresina, Diavolezza is within easy reach by car, bus or the Rhaetian Railway.
Activities
Be fascinated with the beautiful world of mountains when climbing them. One of the highlights is the Bernina-massiv. Piz Bernina is the highest mountain in the east Alps. Climbing and enjoy close encounters with nature in all its raw and fascinating beauty. Pontresina offers the traditional mountain climbing and trekking tours for travelers from the world.
Pontresina has 150 kilometers of attractive routes, there is variety of flat stretches, easy climbs and challenging bits. An almost unlimited number of mountain bike trails awaiting travelers at any level.
Pontresina has been known as one of Switzerland's strongholds of the game of curling. The curling field is open daily from mid-December to the end of February.
Of the 50 kilometers of cross-country skiing track, the high-altitude track on the Diavolezza, 12 kilometers long, is especially noteworthy. About 30 km of winter walks are specially prepared around Pontresina.

Experience the old craft of cheese-making in the Morteratsch showcase Alpine dairy, and taste the products over brunch. It is 5 kilometers from Ponteratsch. The Acla Muragl provides a variety of healthy bio-products for travelers, such as beef, veal, pork, fresh eggs, Engadine sausage, etc. Museum Alpin in Pontresina with collection about the development of summer and winter tourism, hunting, wildlife and the environment. Upper Engadine is an extremely popular holiday region in a fantastic alpine , at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level, with the world-famous resort of St. Moritz.
